Gallery, works by Elizabeth Laudouar
"Intuitive painting is about letting the soul speak on the canvas without fearing the unexpected.
Élizabeth Laudouar has been exploring intuitive painting and its mechanisms as a self-taught artist for 30 years. She uses a diverse palette: inks, pigments, resin, and acrylics. She primarily explores abstract art, combining an unconscious creative process with technical mastery. Her style, freed from academic constraints, invites chance, the unexpected, and surprise. Her works, often colorful and vibrant, speak of the invisible, the essence of life, and pure emotion. They evoke nature, the ocean, and the organic with power and poetry. Through her canvases, she seeks to make silence audible and the intangible visible, provoking a profound and personal feeling in the viewer.
"Elizabeth has a strong artistic identity; each work stands out while remaining part of an aesthetic continuity. Each piece has an immersive dimension through its natural chromatic range, its dynamic texture, and its interplay of transparency and depth. Through her technical mastery and instinctive expression, Elizabeth creates powerful visual and tactile sensations."
The abstract nature of Elizabeth's works is linked to the living world through a sensory and biomorphic approach."
Séverine Crancée Hattu.
Artistic advisor at GALERIES BARTOUX in Paris, specializing in modern and contemporary art.
I share this approach in my Royan studio through courses, workshops, and lectures, where I encourage the exploration of this free art form that I passionately champion. For me, it's about not trying to control everything, welcoming the unexpected, and connecting with pure creativity. With each brushstroke, I encourage my students to overcome their fears and find a
harmonious balance between freedom of expression and technical mastery.
All the paintings shown here represent only a portion of my work. Feel free to visit me at my studio to discover more, over a coffee. (by appointment)
